It’s been such an exciting season of reveals as we continue to finalize, install and photograph projects that experienced timeline delays in the early days of the pandemic. Similar to our Westgate Ave Project, we first began working with our Alisal Ave clients in March 2020—just days before the world turned upside down. Needless to say, the design experience was not what anyone anticipated. Still, we are so proud of the finished home we were able to deliver to our client, despite a few obstacles in the process.
We were tasked with designing a kitchen, entryway and not one but three bathrooms. Our Alisal Ave project is filled to the brim with handmade tiles, plaster finishes and natural stone details. Nestled in the Bay Area, the home reflects its natural surroundings. SEN Creative captured the finished space, and we’d love for you to take a look inside.
CLIENT: Project Alisal Ave
LOCATION: Pleasanton, CA
TIMELINE: March 2020-January 2021
SCOPE OF WORK: Kitchen + Entryway + 3 Bathrooms (Primary, Guest, Kids)
Our Pleasanton, California client came to us in the middle of their build with plans developed by their architect and contractor. The client had a strong idea of what they wanted but felt overwhelmed with the details and tricky space planning involved for the kitchen. Our goal was to retain some of the beauty and character natural to the ranch-style home while incorporating design choices that fit their ‘warm modern’ aesthetic.
KEY DESIGN ELEMENTS
There were so many unique design features that went into this project. However, one that really stands out is that we were able to source some materials from one of our favorite makers, Tess Tile. You can spot these handmade tiles featured in the primary bathroom and kids’ bathroom design.
Tess Tile is based locally here in Minneapolis, and their team creates one-of-a-kind tile with glazes that are remarkable and versatile. Tess Tile handcrafts and thoughtfully curates their tile shapes to be relevant to any design style. We first discovered Tess Tile while sourcing for our Drew Ave Project and have loved collaborating with them ever since. You might remember that we interviewed Marnee of Tess Tile in ‘Meet the Maker’ Series here on the blog. If you haven’t already, we highly recommend reading more about her journey as an artist.
