Our Favorite Vintage Finds

Here at the design studio, sourcing vintage is one of the hallmarks of our work. While our style leans decidedly modern, bringing vintage elements into the mix gives a home a more rooted sense of soul. Whether it’s a handwoven rug from an expert curator like Passerine Home or a piece of vintage art shipped from Europe, it’s these interesting layers of character that can’t be store-bought.

Along with visual interest, sourcing vintage really aligns with our core values. Our team is passionate about moving the needle on sustainability, and shopping for existing furniture and decor pieces is one easy way to do that. Today on the blog, we are sharing our favorite vintage finds of the moment, all with shoppable links to bring these pieces to your home. With so many supply chains distributed, there has never been a better time to shop vintage, so let’s lead the way.

Vintage Rugs

We've been very on-the-record about our love of vintage rugs. The level of craftsmanship behind a quality vintage rug is second to none, and they are one of our favorite ways to anchor a space. Here are a few styles that have most recently caught our eye:

Skylar by Passerine

A minimalist's dream, this flat-woven kilim is a true chameleon. It's made with cotton and goat hair yarns and features a subtle stripe design.

Zelda by Passerine

If you're in the market for a large-scale area rug, this 9x13 wool on cotton rug is worthy of consideration. We particularly love the color palette of soft black, rust, brick red, and cream that works as a warm neutral foundation.

Hayley by Passerine

Yet another selection from Passerine, this 1920s rug speaks to our love of rustic earth tones. Plus, the 6x8 size works particularly well in a bedroom or small living space.

Vintage Furniture

Sourcing vintage furniture usually requires a bit of research. Always buy from reputable vendors, and when in doubt, ask questions (and proof of authenticity) upfront.

Danish Highback Lounge Chair via 1st Dibs

Featuring a channeled back and sculptural design, this chair spoke to us the minute we saw it. Dating back to the 1940s, it's a fun nod to the past while also feeling very of the moment.

French Farmhouse Dining Table by Stand Out Spaces
This 19th-century farm table would bring a striking authenticity to any rustic dining room. It's built of European pine and (bonus) ships free within the U.S.

Norwegian Siesta Chair Set via 1st Dibs

Mid-century-inspired leather lounge chairs are everywhere, but we love the idea of sourcing period pieces. Not only do these chairs fit the bill, but the three-piece set is such a great value.

Vintage Lighting

Lighting has a way of really tying a space together. We love incorporating period-appropriate lighting that's specific to the era of your home.

Italian Wall Lights by The Art of Object

This pair of 1950s sconces would look fantastic installed above a fireplace or bedroom nightstands.

Circle Table Lamp via 1st Dibs

Whether you style in your office or even on a kitchen counter, this brass table lamp from the Netherlands delivers loads of character.
