I can't believe we're saying this - but summer is in full swing and already passing quickly. How do these precious summer days always seem so fleeting? Lately at the studio we've been kicking off our summer projects including a few cabins! Things have been comprised of lots of travel, lots of sourcing, lots of custom pieces, many (industry wide) delays and as much family time as we can squeeze in.

It has been so wonderful to work on a variety of architecturally diverse spaces and our upcoming projects are not short of character. Cabins, lake homes, and weekend getaways are woven intricately into our Minnesota roots. While not all of our clients are local - we certainly understand the concept of #lakelife. As a result of all our fun summer projects, we are on the road a little more often for site visits and drumming up inspiration from several books. As always, you can follow along on Pinterest to see where our creative brains are at and shop our curated collections of products. Below, I've rounded up some of my favorite cabin inspo sources to add to your shelves at home.
These Shoes Were Made for Walking
The most frequently asked "style" question I get is actually about these leather sneakers. They are insanely comfortable, yet make every outfit feel cool and elevated. Things have been BUSY for us lately, which has resulted in countless hours on our feet. These shoes get us through travel, install day and back without issue. I also actually love them in yellow, too!
Our team has been specifying paint colors like crazy lately and that's been made easier with a few killer new paint collections, like Kelly Wearstler's line for Farrow and Ball. Maybe I'm on a yellow kick lately but the Citron color is the perfect muddy yellow - I have big plans for a kitchen island or custom vanity in this hue.
Additionally, I've been really impressed with Sherwin Williams' Emerald® Designer Edition recently! The colors feel elevated, timeless, yet all a little "off". And you know I like things a little unexpected. A few favorites include Tungsten, Momentum, Mountain Fig, and Pale Pink.
I am a podcast fiend. And since we're on the road all the time, whether traveling long distances or just between our local workrooms, podcasts help me feel productive in all that in between time. Currently, I'm binging To Live and Die in LA. A true crime podcast about a missing 25 year old in Hollywood and how suspects are intertwined. Brown Ambition is another must-listen. It's all the career advice I need and the hosts Mandi and Tiffany are like my own personal financial coaches.
