The May Edit

This month has been such a breath of fresh air after what felt like a never-ending winter. With beautiful weather making its way to Minneapolis, plus the (gradual) return to a sense of pre-pandemic normalcy, this spring has been a true light at the end of a tunnel. With summer right around the corner, we’ve spent time revamping our own outdoor spaces and can’t wait to get outside and enjoy this incredible time of year any chance we get.

Per usual, we’ve also spent the past month working away on projects across the country. We’re getting so close to final install day on several homes and will be looping you in as they get photographed for their big reveal. In the process of preparing for these installs, we’ve found some great home pieces that instantly caught our eye.

From the styling pieces we’re sourcing to the wardrobe staples we’re wearing to the podcasts we’re streaming, this month’s Edit post has a little something for everyone.

TO WEAR

I've mentioned a few times that I'm in the process of majorly reworking my closet, and I'm happy to share that I've found a few winners. Over the years, I've learned to be much more choosy about which pieces I purchase and have taken on a 'better not more' mindset anytime I shop. My criteria comes down to only buying pieces that (1) I absolutely adore, (2) are well made, and (3) fit like a glove. If a piece of clothing can check those three boxes, I know it's worth the investment.

On the accessories side, I try to take a similar approach. Less is usually more, and rather than chase after trends, I prefer to purchase pieces that will last for the long haul. Case in point? These sunglasses, which have become my ride or die. I always get a million questions about them when I hop on IG Stories, and I can assure you they'll become your new favorite.

TO LISTEN

You all know that podcasts are my favorite form of media, and I love listening to a wide variety of genres. Lately, I've been loving this podcast by The New York Times to get my daily dose of news. They're quick, 20-minute episodes that deep-dive a single news story every day of the week. It's such an easy way to get a sense of what's happening in the world without falling into 'information overwhelm.'

TO STYLE

As mentioned earlier, we’re currently in prep mode for styling and install on seven projects here at the studio. We cannot wait to show you what we’ve been working on, and we promise to spare no detail when it finally comes time for reveals. We’ve also managed to find some really great styling items that could work in any home during this prep time. As designers, we consider these super versatile pieces that have earned our full stamp of approval.

And lastly, if you’re curious about what we’re loving you, come join us on Pinterest. Lately, we’ve been pinning a ton of interesting interior stair ideas, but we’re only just getting started.
